Experience

Starting from a BSc in Civil Engineering, Jan Husdal has dealt with issues related to emergency management and safe community planning in several Norwegian counties since 1989 before joining Møreforsking Molde in 2005.

In 2000 he obtained a MSc in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Leicester, UK, focusing on least-cost paths and network analysis using GIS tools. Currently, his main research is centered on assessing the socio-economic impacts of infrastructure reliability and vulnerability.

Jan Husdal has since 2004 served as a member of the program committee on European Policy and Research with the Association for European Transport, AET. In 2005 he was appointed as member of the Transportation Economics Committee ABE20 with the Transportation Research Board, TRB.
